Renowned for their psychedelic soul jazz funk and early reggae sound, Soul Sugar offers us a instrumental rendition of James Brown’s stone-cold classic “Theme from king heroin”.

Recorded in a loft in the south of Paris some years back, with band leader Guillaume Metenier on organ, regular contributors Yvo Abadi on drums and Thomas Naim on guitar, augmented by a featured horn section directed by Etienne de la Sayette on flute and saxophone. A real crisp instrumental in state-of-the-art quality!

Blundetto and his alter ego Blackjoy give the track their secret dub treatment, for an epic and organic adventure in sound.
